FLOCS/ILCS Accredited
Holy Cross Christian Academy is accredited by the Florida League of Christian Schools (FLOCS) that is under the umbrella of the national organization ILCS or International League of Christian Schools. Our school is an accredited "School of Excellence" through ILCS & FLOCS. As an accredited school, we are always striving for continuous improvement. ILCS accountability through accreditation and certification is one way in which Christian schools can validate their quality programs. Accreditation is a must for any private institution that wishes to remain competitive and maintain a legitimate reputation. This is a rigorous process, but so worth it for our students, our families and our school.

The benefits of accreditation are innumerable and vary from state to state. One of the most significant benefits for parents that are concerned is the validation that the school or center provides appropriate curriculum and sequence of course offerings for the benefit of its students.
Additionally, accreditation requires that a school focus on continual improvement of programs, services, and teacher quality through regular evaluation, data analysis, professional development, and long-range strategic planning, as well as the discontinuance of outdated and ineffective learning strategies.
Students who exit accredited schools and centers that are recognized by our affiliates will have transcripts or coursework that is transferable to other educational institutions and will be recognized by area colleges and universities during the application process.

Abeka’s proven approach to teaching helps teachers teach and students learn. It begins with our traditional philosophy of education. This teacher-directed framework empowers teachers to focus students’ attention on the material they need to learn—in a context and sequence that will help them learn it best. As students begin to grasp what’s being taught, newly acquired concepts and skills are fortified time and again using a method often referred to as spiral learning. Finally, students’ growing mastery of subject matter is strengthened because of the comprehensive design of our curriculum. Material taught in one subject is reinforced in other subjects. Hands-On Learning
At Holy Cross Christian Academy we believe in hands-on learning. Children learn better when they can work on things and see what science is all about. We do weekly science experiments and Middle and High School have Science Lab every week. We also use manipulatives to teach math and have art as an elective.
